Our Client

We were selected by the United States government to participate in and actively lead several weeks-long training courses in Uganda and Ethiopia. The training was delivered to members of the Ugandan and Ethiopian law enforcement and internal security personnel.

OUR CHALLENGE

We were tasked with delivering a United States government-approved curriculum on best practices related to law enforcement procedures, practices, laws, investigative techniques, and tactics via a translator to attendees. The United States government is actively involved in supporting ally nations in improving their law enforcement practices, including officer safety and adherence to the legal rights of persons suspected of criminal activity.

OUR PLAN

Utilizing a team-teaching model, our instructors adopted the government-approved course material and created a meaningful learning experience for the students. Our instructors worked through a translator to deliver the course material using instructor-led training, role-playing, case studies, and coached scenarios. Our course on conducting subject interviews, along with the role-playing exercises, was rated as the most popular and informative by the students.

OUR OUTCOME

The curriculum preparation, coupled with instructors with subject matter expertise, truly delivered an exceptional training program. The students felt a camaraderie with the instructors and engaged by sharing their own successful case studies as well as the challenges they faced enforcing their laws in their respective countries.

Our instructors’ abilities to build rapport with each student, even with a language barrier, and represent the best of the United States law enforcement practices had a meaningful impact on everyone involved, as our instructors remain in contact with many of their students.
