Raw information + analysis = Intelligence.

Intelligence analysis, in one form or another, has been used successfully for generations by organizations, governments, militaries, and private individuals to aid in decision making, manufacturing, innovation, growth, development, and general survival.

HUMINT means human intelligence. HUMINT is intelligence gathered by means of interpersonal contact. Modern reliance on technology has diminished the general ability to acquire intelligence through personal contact and relations. ADRIDEN Global has “revived the Lost Art of Human Intelligence.”

OSINT means open source intelligence. In 2011, the Office of the Director of National Intelligence defined OSINT as: “Intelligence produced from publicly available information that is collected, exploited, and disseminated in a timely manner to an appropriate audience for the purpose of addressing a specific intelligence requirement.”

Past experience has shown that in order to be successful during a surveillance, a minimum of two surveillance personnel are needed. The two-person team can be in two vehicles or in one vehicle based on the needs of the case and the operational environment. Additionally, ground-truth realities such as traffic conditions, target neighborhood, awareness of the target to possible surveillance efforts, and the weather all play a part in determining the ultimate needs of a surveillance.
